The Honolulu Festival Foundation was established in 2000 as a non profit corporation under Chapter 415B of the Hawaii Revised Statues. The Foundation is strictly limited to charitable, educational, and cultural exchange purposes. The primary objective of the Honolulu Festival Foundation is to provide the annual Honolulu Festival to citizens of Hawaii and its visitors at no cost to the public. The primary functions of the Honolulu Festival Foundation are to sponsor, maintain, develop, improve, and protect the annual Honolulu Festival. The Festival provides a unique opportunity for residents of Hawaii and visitors from all over the world to experience the cultural practices and traditional art forms of Japan and other Pacific Rim countries. By sponsoring and promoting this Festival, the Foundation is proud to make an important contribution towards perpetuating culture, customs and traditions of Asians and Pacific Islanders. The Honolulu Festival consists of a three-day extravaganza of artistic, cultural and educational events throughout Oahu. The Festival provides a rare opportunity to experience the celebrations of various Pacific Rim countries in a single location. After three days of performances and demonstrations throughout Oahu, the Festival concludes with a spectacular lighted parade through Waikiki on Sunday evening.
