The Pacific and Asian Affairs Councils mission is to promote a greater awareness and understanding of foreign affairs issues with special attention to Hawaiis role in the Asia-Pacific region. The Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) is an independent, international educational non-profit and serves as the World Affairs Council for the State of Hawaii. The World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) is a national network of educational organizations that promotes and focuses on events and issues on the international level. Since 1954, PAAC has provided international education to more than 73,500 high school students and 90,500 individuals attending community college programs statewide. PAAC is preparing the next generation of leaders for an increasingly interconnected world. PAAC has continuously brought substantive and critical issues of foreign affairs to Hawaii through its programs- Speaker Forums, International Visitor Leadership Program, UHCC International Affairs Outreach Program, High School Global Education Program, and Career Exploration Program. PAACs Board of Governors is comprised of prominent members of the community, including business executives, government, educational and academic leaders. Each board member serves on one of PAACs standing committees: Budget and Finance, Golf (Fundraiser), Membership, Nominations, Program, Public Relations & Strategic Planning.
