Kailua High School was founded in 1955, at the present site of Kailua Intermediate School. In 1962, Kailua High School moved to its present campus on 451 Ulumanu Drive. Kailua High School is accredited with the Western Association of Schools & Colleges. Kailua High is one of four public high schools that service the Windward District (eastern side) of Oahu.The rural neighborhoods of Kailua and Waimanalo have a combined population of 50,000 residents.
