We invite you to visit us and find out how an affordable Hanalani education is right for you. History: Hanalani Schools has a long history of training the keiki of Hawaii in a loving Christian environment. Begun in 1952 as Kings Schools, the small church nursery soon grew into a thriving elementary school on Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa. In 1973, Kings Schools changed its name to Hanalani Schools and was officially incorporated as a nondenominational, non-profit organization by the state of Hawaii. By the late 1970s, the dedicated Christian workers and teachers of Hanalani had helped the school to expand significantly, offering classes all the way through the 12th grade. With the growing numbers came a growing need for new facilities, as Hanalani now met on three separate campuses, Wilikina Drive, Hongwanji Mission, and the Wahiawa YMCA buildings. After much prayer about the school’s need for a new location, Hanalani acquired six acres of prime land in a new community called Mililani Town. In 1983, the Intermediate and High School divisions moved into a quadrangle of classrooms built on the new property, and by 1986, the Elementary division finally made the move to Mililani. As Hanalani continues to grow, the school has continued to expand and improve its facilities, most recently with the addition of a Student Activities Center (SAC) in 2000.
