Waialua Sugar Mill Hawaii in eList Hawaii Directory

The Rich history of the Waialua Sugar Mill is everywhere you look and in most the people you talk to in this mill. Stories about the Sugar Days are one of the high points of a visit out to the mill. I have been told by burning the leftover sugar cane enough electricity was generated to run the mill and the North Shore. The stone work supporting the smoke stack was hand cut by a local family and the key stone dates 1900. It is wonderful that you are so interested in keeping the Waialua Sugar Mill history alive! I will continue to search and visit with relatives to see what artifacts they have to share for your history collection. I will also send copies of the old pictures I have of Adolph Herman Peiler, blacksmith of Koloa (Kauai) and Waialua (Oahu) plantations (latter approx 1908-1918). His son, LeRoy Peiler was also prominent in the Waialua sugar mill history.
