Hamakua Artisans Guild site. A few years ago, we discovered that many of our neighbors were also artists or crafts people. We began meeting and formed the Hamakua Artisans Guild. Hamakua is a district on the northeast coast of the Island of Hawaii. Our meetings and activities take place in the town of Honoka‘a, 40 miles north of Hilo.They are a diverse group of artisans, working in many mediums, including pottery, glass, jewelry, wood, metal, painting and fibers. We are all professionals, and pride ourselves on the high quality of our work. Some of us use Hawaiian materials or have a Hawaiian theme to our work.
