Linda Whittemore became an artist to express the world around her. She spends time in her studio, creating images of the island surroundings which are a constant source of inspiration. Linda’s background as a printmaker began in the print studio of Margaret Bedell (her mother). She studied at the Laguna Beach School of Art in Laguna Beach, California; also studying within the art departments of Orange Coast College, Saddleback College, Coastline Community College, Mira Coast College culminating in a BA degree from University of Hawaii. Linda has had the opportunity to study with Roger Armstrong, Hiroki Morinoue, Roger Folk, Chris Nugent, Richard Nelson and Darren Waterston. Sought after by collectors, Linda’s unique abstract monotypes result from of a finely tuned artistic sense combined with passion to continually explore new themes and styles.
