Bill Foote started surfing in 1962, when he began repairing boards, he knew he would be in surfboard design for the rest of his life. Bill started shaping in Puerto Rico in 1971. That year upon moving to Sunset Beach, Hawaii, he put a hold on shaping and concentrated on riding boards, and learning from the best shapers in the world; Dick Brewer, Tom Parrish, Reno Abilera. He began to take up shaping again in 1976. Bill then got into windsurfing in 1980 and, began shaping sailboards almost immediately. He has been involved in all aspects of innovative board design since the beginning. In his career he has shaped boards for some of the best surfers and windsurfers in the world, building boards for such well known riders such as The Siver brothers, The Pritchard brothers, the Stone brothers, Scott Fenton, and many others.
